Charles Heidsieck was the son of Charles-Henri Heidsieck Charles-Henri Heidsieck in turn was one of the three nephews of the founder of the original Heidsieck & Co, Florens-Louis Heidsieck.
In 1818 Charles-Henri Heidsieck married a lady named Emelie Henriot. But only six years later, in 1824, Charles-Henri Heidsieck died completely unexpectedly. Only four years later, the founder Florens-Louis Heidsieck also died.
The two remaining nephews then founded their own companies, which are now world-famous as Heidsieck Monopolies and Piper-Heidsieck. The then young Charles Heidsieck entered the service of Piper-Heidsieck in 1845. Like his father, Charles Heidsieck also married a lady from Henriot, Amélie Henriot, around 1851. Immediately afterwards he left the house Piper-Heidsieck and founded 1851 together with his new brother-in-law Ernest Henriot a champagne house named Charles Heidsieck.
In 1822, Charles-Camille Heidsieck was born. Happy event, 37 years after the foundation of the Maison de Champagne Heidsieck et Cie by his great uncle.
