Dizy

Dizy (postcode 51530) is a commune, with 1,540 inhabitants (as of 2016), in France, in the Champagne Region Montagne de Rheims. The community is located about 2 km north of Épernay, along the Marne, on the south to southwest slopes of the Montagne de Reims. Dizy carries the status of Champagne classification, as a Premier Cru place. The grapes of the commune are rated 95%. The vineyards planted amount to an area of about 180.4 hectares (as of 2019). Of these, 69.1 hectares are planted with Chardonnay vines, 37.4 hectares with Pinot Meunier and 73.9 hectares with Pinot Noir. The vineyards are located to the north of the commune, at an altitude of 100 m, on partly steep slopes, high up to the edge of the forest at 200 m above sea level. The vineyards face southwest. The grapes of Dizy are of high quality. The wines deliver a classic, well-structured style and come close to those from Aÿ with elegance and finesse.
